Progress!
Thanks to Greg lending me his Roto-Zip, I’ve actually made progress on my case mod. Yesterday, I marked out all the cuts, and today I cut them all out. In addition, I’ve mounted the motherboard and power supply, and two of the fans (although I’ll have to get bigger screws to properly mount the fans). Still to do are finding a place and mounting style for the hard drive and DVD-rom, and finding a way to secure the graphics card. Now, pictures.

First, the box with the holes in it.

Next, the box with the motherboard, powersupply, and two fans mounted. Note the hard drive sitting on top of the power supply.

Have I mentioned that the fans glow blue?

And finally, the obligatory (don’t ask me why, but it’s always there) picture of the screen running on the modded box.
This has turned out to be a pretty easy project. It has only taken me a couple of hours today to get all this done. Now, it’s not a very “finished” project, so I’m sure I could spend a lot more time on it, and it’s also wood, which is easier to work with than metal, but it’s still remarkably easy. Hopefully, tomorrow I’ll mount the drives, and be done.
A Roto-Zip? Am I the only one who thinks that it sounds just a little…..odd?
