Okay, so I went and tried to install Windows XP today, and failed abysmally. The Windows install disk claimed that the partition table was full (it wasn’t, there were only three partitions and Linux could create a new one fine). So, I created the partition in Linux, and told Windows to install on it. This failed. for some unknown reason, but managed to bork my MBR, meaning I had to boot from a Linux CD to fix it. It looks like I’m going to have to wipe the drive and install Windows first, then re-install Linux. That really really blows. I guess I’ll just wait and not install Windows for now. I really don’t need it, for the most part.

Have I mentioned that Windows sucks?
