Car buying sucks
I’m getting fed up with this whole new car fiasco, and I haven’t even been to a dealer yet!
First off, the whole “Buy your new car online” is a lie. You can buy used cars, but not new cars. When you “buy online”, you actually just get refered to a “local” dealer. Local is in quotes, because on of my “local” dealers was in Toledo. Then, even though they’re supposed to email you a quote, they won’t. All they’ll do is try and get you to call them so they can talk you into spending a lot more money.
I think we were spoiled last time by buying a Saturn. Saturn dealerships are actually run like a store: they have a price, and you either pay it or not. It’s great. If Saturn had a car that I even remotely wanted, I’d buy it, just to support the whole concept…
So, tomorrow, I have to venture into the world of dealers for the first time. I’m only test driving, but I expect it to be a horrible experience. Sometimes I wish I didn’t need a new car.
