Broken HD

Have I mentioned that comcast sucks?

Today is Michigan – Notre Dame. This is a big game. Very big for MIchigan, as it’s our first test of the season. Big for Notre Dame, as they have a lot to lose. Big in general, since this is a big rivalry.

And comcast’s HD is broken. The audio works, but the picture is frozen on the screen from some vonage commercial. Luckily, we are TiVoing the game, so we’re watching it in normal def right now.

The ironic part, is that every commercial break contains an ad for comcast HD. Every break. Except you can’t actually see the commercials on HD.

Comcast: you suck. Fix your HD.

Vienna Teng

Violin, viola, cello, piano. Sounds like classical, right? Nope, it was Vienna Teng at the Ark last night, and it was phenomenal. I have to say, that woman has one of the most amazing voices I’ve ever heard, and it’s better live than recorded on CD. Not many pop singers can claim that…

If you get a chance to see her, jump at it. It was an amazing concert.

Plus, she allows you to record the concert. So, we have an hour and a half of (somewhat sketchy) recording I’m going to have to try and edit and clean up into something useful…

Gnome 2.16

Thanks to all the hard work of all the guys maintaining and using the overlay, Gnome 2.16 is in portage on the same day it came out. If you’re into bleeding edge software, unmask it and give it a go!

I’d love to tell you how awesome it is, compared to 2.14, but I’ve been using 2.15 all along, so I’m just used to it. :)

Expect us to unmask it into ~arch in a week or two, after it’s gotten a good shakedown.
